Letter from Mrs George

Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s great to be back! My maternity leave has gone very quickly and it’s hard to believe that my daughter is now over 6 months old. Today I am not the only person returning from parental leave; Mrs Goode, Miss Skeldon and Mr Campbell are joining me.  Creating a new life is so precious, but I am reminded of the African proverb; ‘It takes a whole community to raise a child’.  As parents or carers we make decisions about all aspects of our children’s lives, but we entrust others to help support, guide and teach our children so that together they grow into confident and resilient adults.  The staff at Stockland Green really do take this responsibility seriously and always go above and beyond.  I’m very fortunate to lead such a wonderful staff body.

Our school really is a special place to be. It’s a school where we have extremely high standards and the introduction of the Stockland Green Standard by Mrs Gould encapsulates this.  I have thanked her for ensuring that Stockland Green continued to progress in my absence and I’m now looking forward to carrying on our school improvement journey with the students, staff and governors.

The last three weeks of term are very busy, as are all weeks in the school calendar. We will welcome our new Year 7 students and parents into our family, which is a very exciting time for us, but possibly very nerve wracking for them.  Our current Year 7’s have their parents evening, we have Year 10 Work Experience and Sports Day to name a few other events.

I will be in touch before the end of term, but just a reminder that school  breaks up for students on Friday 21st July at 12.30pm.

Yours sincerely

Mrs M George
