Welcome back to the Autumn Term

Is it really October already? They do say time flies when you are having fun!

September has been another exciting month at Stockland Green. Students came back from the Summer break on the back of our best ever examination results. Almost half of our students obtained 5+ in both English and Maths which really is something to be celebrated, along with the vast majority of subjects also seeing improvements at all levels. Last week we got our provisional Progress 8 score which is 0.11 which myself and the school community are delighted about. This shows that we are having a significant impact on the progress that our students make during their time with us, from their KS2 SATs results. This really is down to the hard work and dedication from all of the staff, students, their families and our wider community.

Our Open Evening was another stunning event where our school was showcased at its best. We had over 250 families through our doors which is the highest ever. So many families really do want our school as their first choice. Both students and staff showed the energy and enthusiasm that oozes through our building on a daily basis. Jack Dromey MP also dropped in and really was so complimentary about our school. We have also had numerous families come and walk around the building during the school day. Feedback is always about how quiet it is and how well-mannered the students are. I have to say I totally agree with all of the feedback that we received as school really is a great place to be.

As a school community we came together to raise money through our MacMillan coffee morning. This is an annual event that is always one of my many highlights in the school calendar. This year was definitely the best ever with more contributions from both students and staff. Our faculties got involved by all creating a ‘show stopper cake’. It was so great to see everyone coming together and having fun. We talk about Stockland Green being a family and this event really did demonstrate this in bucket loads. Please take a look at twitter to see the creations. Thank you to all that participated and earned valuable House Points for their House.

October will be another jam packed month in the lead up to half term. Keep a look out for twitter where we will share our highlights.
