A warm welcome back

There is something very magical about the beginning of a new academic year. A time to reacquaint with members of our Stockland Green family and set out our hopes and aspirations for the year ahead.  The start of term has been even more special, as we have been able to celebrate a good set of GCSE examination results with students and staff.  Over half of our Y11 students gained good GCSE grades in both English and Maths which is an increase from the previous year and with a harder specification and expectations placed upon students to gain the good pass grades.  We also celebrated 75% of our subjects improving their A*-C grades and 50% improving upon their A*/A grades.  This is all down to the hard work and dedication of both students and staff. It really is a team effort at Stockland Green.  We wish our students well as they continue on in their educational journey.

Our Years 7s started on Tuesday and have made a fantastic first impression with all of the staff that they came in to contact with. This was their target alongside getting House points.  We had one student who gained a massive 11 House points which is incredible, but over half of the year group achieved at least one House point on the first day. Very impressive indeed! I am sure that the year group will settle in well and grasp the many opportunities afforded to them here at Stockland Green School.  Their five year journey has started and I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes us.

Wednesday saw the return of the rest of the students. The ambiance of our vibrant and enthusiastic school had returned and it was wonderful to see the school fully alive again. Students have been reminded of the high expectations we have so all within our community can thrive in a safe, loving and supportive environment.  The year ahead is an exciting prospect as I know that our school will continue to go from strength to strength.  Keep an eye out for our regular tweets on twitter as this really does provide an insight to daily life here at Stockland Green School.
