Birmingham Virtual School KS3 Celebration Awards




Stockland Green School would like to pass on huge congratulations to  Melissa Allen, Sarah Allen and Dale Hickman on their success on the awards evening held on Thursday 10th March at the Holte Suite at Villa Park Stadium.  They joined TV presenter Emma Jesson and footballing star Lee Hendrie at this red carpet awards ceremony celebrating the achievements of students.

The event was a celebration of the achievements of children and there were six award categories with a winner and runner up from Year 7, 8 and 9 in each category.  Each year group also had around six to eight finalists for each category.

Melissa Allen received the attendance award for Year 9 and Sarah Allen for Year 8.  Dale Hickman received the Paralympic Values Award of determination, inspiration, courage and equality for Year 8.

All young people were treated to a red carpet entrance, tour of the stadium, £10 voucher and an evening of games and entertainment including a Virtual Car, Air Hockey, a Photo Booth and Basketball Games.  The evening had an Olympic Theme and the awards were presented by ITV weather girl Emma Jesson and ex Villa player Lee Hendrie.

All the students were very excited and thoroughly enjoyed the very special evening, especially Melissa who had great fun at the Photo Booth.

Mrs Harding,  Head of Year 9 said ‘I felt very privileged and overwhelmed tonight by the work and care of the wonderful people I spent the evening with and who provide young people with life changing chances to ensure they are successful and achieve’.
